17 December 09 - Yummy Yorkshire ice cream company celebrates green account win

We are thrilled to announce that Yummy Yorkshire has won a contract to supply one of Yorkshire’s largest garden centres with our luxury dairy ice cream.

We will be supplying seven of our flavours – including our three times award-winning ‘Lou’s Liquorice’ flavour - to Wentworth Garden Centre. Visitors to the centre will be able to buy the ice cream fresh on the cone in the newly refurbished 250 seater coffee shop and restaurant.

The garden centre, which is located near Wentworth Woodhouse, the infamous South Yorkshire stately home, awarded the contract to Yummy Yorkshire based not only on its high quality produce, but also due to its ethical credentials.

Wentworth’s catering manager Chris Bond says: “We aim to support regional suppliers wherever possible and were very impressed with the quality and range of Yummy Yorkshire’s products. We particularly liked the fact that the ice cream is 100% natural and completely fresh - the milk and cream are produced on site and processed within 90 minutes.

“This together with their ethics on trading as a small business and their dedication to using locally produced ingredients made them an excellent partner for us.”

Since launching in April 2007, Yummy Yorkshire has developed over 50 recipes of traditional, seasonal and contemporary ice cream. Its Lou’s Liquorice ice cream flavour recently won best Dairy Product and Supreme Product of the Year at the deliciouslyorkshire Awards and also scooped the top award at this year’s Great Taste Awards, receiving three gold stars.

Speaking about the account win Jeremy Holmes, founder of Yummy Yorkshire says: “Winning this contract on top of our recent award win is a real boost.  We have ambitious growth plans and hope to continue developing new flavours as well as growing our customer base.”
